From the molecular level to industry, every step represents a leap in value.

Aerospace

PBI (polybenzimidazole) boasts exceptional thermal stability, high strength, radiation resistance, and lightweight properties. With a decomposition temperature exceeding 600°C, it can operate continuously at temperatures above 310°C, making it ideally suited to the extreme operating conditions of aerospace and defense applications. It provides critical material support for advanced equipment and is widely used in three core sectors.

In the aerospace sector, PBI is employed in insulating layers, seals, and adhesives for aircraft engine blades, contributing to weight reduction and ensuring operational stability. It is also used for protecting transparent fuselage components and housing avionics, thereby enhancing flight safety and equipment reliability.

In the aerospace field, it serves as a thermal protection layer for spacecraft, resisting high‑temperature ablation during atmospheric reentry; it is also compatible with proton exchange membranes in spacecraft fuel cells, providing stable power; furthermore, it is used in cable insulation, rocket engine seals, and structural reinforcement components of the launch vehicle, ensuring launch and flight safety.

In the defense industry, PBI is used in engine components for tanks and armored vehicles to enhance battlefield survivability; it is also employed to manufacture specialized protective fabrics that safeguard combat personnel. Additionally, PBI is utilized in critical radar and missile components as well as in the housings of military electronic equipment, ensuring that these systems perform their missions with precision.
