Apexazole® Polybenzimidazole PBI Resin

Apexazole® PBI is a fully aromatic heterocyclic high-performance thermoplastic polymer that, thanks to its exceptional thermodynamic properties, sets an industry‑leading benchmark for engineering plastics. With a glass transition temperature as high as 427°C, it remains non‑flammable, non‑melting, and non‑shrinkable even under severe high‑temperature combustion conditions. At the same time, it exhibits outstanding mechanical strength, excellent resistance to strong acids and bases, and superior electrical insulation, enabling it to withstand extreme service conditions that other specialty engineering plastics cannot endure. As such, it ranks among the highest‑performing specialty engineering plastics available today.
In terms of molding and processing, PBI powder can be used to produce AU‑60‑grade profiles via compression molding, offering optimal overall performance and suitable for precision machining into various structural components. Composite materials modified by blending with polyether ether ketone (PEEK) or polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) are supplied as AT‑series pellets, ideal for injection molding and extrusion. Furthermore, PBI material solutions can also be employed to fabricate hollow fiber membranes, flat‑sheet membranes, cast films, and metallic coatings.
